I received an email from a concerned PMP user. There are a lot of shady companies out there that would do almost anything for a buck, so these doubts are understandable. We are not one of those companies. Here's are the questions that were asked:
If I create a brand new pattern from Patternmaker Pro are you able to see it?
Will it ever be shared with your audience?
Who has the rights to it? (Specifically if it is my design and not a modification to one of your patterns.)
I think this is a very relevant. We have given all of you the ability to create original designs, either from scratch or based on any of our patterns. So let me address each of these questions.
Can we see the pattern? Technically, yes we could see it. The raw SVG is saved to your account in our database. We would have to pull the SVG out and put the code somewhere to view it. However, each entry is one of thousands that we store. There are only two of us with access and we just would never do this, unless for some reason a user explicitly requested it.
Will the pattern be shared? No, there isn't any way to share an SVG by exporting it out. Some users have asked if they can share their patterns, so we might add this ability in the future. Either way, you would have to explicitly request just a thing.
Who has the rights to the pattern? You do. It doesn't matter if the pattern was created from scratch or you chose to start with one of ours. It belongs to you, not to us. We just hold it for you so you can access it whenever you wish.
All of these questions are addressed in our Terms and Conditions. Below is the section relevant to these specifically. There is a link to the full document on the bottom of every Patternmaker Pro website page. We encourage you to read these so you know what your rights are in regard to Patternmaker Pro, the Fashioner and the website in general.
