I'm not clear on what you are trying to do. The measurement set list is just a way of adding a value. If you want the center front, you'll need to create a starting point somewhere on the canvas. (point>add free point). Then select point>add point from point and select the first point. For center front length, select the Center Length Front from the drop-down set list on the Y Position line. You'll see a bright green point added the distance of the measurement set's Center Length Front from the selected point. Save and name the point, if you wish.
The set drop-down does not draw anything by itself. It is just a quick way of using a value from your measurement set without having to look it up. I hope that explains it.
