Missy I It sounds like you have geometry that is very large. The system will output a PDF of the size necessary to get all the geometry out. If you used reference lines or anything else that extends the entire canvas, you will have problems. The PDF output should take a couple minutes at most.
Here's a quick test. Select Layers > move items to new layer. It will ask for items to move. Select a couple of your pattern final lines, like the outline. Don't select any of the geometry that you don't need printed. Just pick one or two for the test. Then give the new layer a name. Select the very top layer as the parent (probably Fashioner in your case). Then Save and Switch. You are now on the new layer (the name is displayed at the top of the tool bar).
Use the Layers > Layer visibility and turn off everything except the new layer you are on. All the other layers will be in orange. You can't hide the top layer, or it will hide the one your on. Now you should just see your one or two lines.
Now try to output to PDF. It should do it and not take long.
If that works, you just need to move only the bare necessities over to output. Put them on the new layer (layers > move items to existing layer).
You can't output all the "drafting" geometry, it's just too much. Reference lines are the worst. Even a stray point that you accidently created way over on the canvas can cause problems.
Let me know how that works.
