Hi Lori. I just joined up yesterday and Im very keen and excited to get on with making patterns! I just have a question about uploading an image: When I select Upload Image and then 'Continue', it jumps to the manual not a file upload. What am I doing wrong!

Kerry When you select Image > Import Image > Continue, it should open a file browser for you to select the image file. I just tested it and that's what mine does. There is nothing that should open the manual.

The header at the top of the tool panel says 'Image Import' and is a link to the manual, but you shouldn't be selecting that. Is that what you did by accident?

Thanks. I was doing the right thing but it wouldn't open but I logged out and walked away and when i logged in again it did the right thing! May have been a glitching internet connection I think. Can you choose which layer the image lands on? It landed on the same layer as my draft and now moves with the draft?

Kerry Images go on their own layer. You can use the Layer > Layer Visibility to see this. When you say "move" do you mean when you pan the work area? The entire area moves, all layers included. Just hide the image layer, if it is distracting.
